Renewal of Permanent License to Practice

This service aims to renew the permanent license for another cycle. The license is renewed for two years in the private and semi-government sectors, while it is renewed annually in the government sector by the healthcare practitioner. Healthcare practitioners can submit a renewal application through the electronic registration system three months before the current license expires.

1. Front and back copies of the Qatari ID card.

2. Copy of the passport (if applicable).

3. Recent personal photograph.

4. Medical examination report for certain specialties.

5. Employment letter issued by the health facility.

1. The beneficiary must be tied to a specific workplace and is not authorized to practice elsewhere, with Qatari nationals exempted from this condition.

2. The title in the Qatari residence permit must match the title under which the license will be issued, and the healthcare practitioner must be under the employer's sponsorship. Practicing outside the specified scope is prohibited.

3. The healthcare practitioner must meet continuous medical and professional education standards.

4. The healthcare practitioner must maintain uninterrupted employment.

5. The medical examination must comply with the health fitness policy issued by the Professional Competency Department to ensure the practitioner's suitability.

6. The passport must be valid.

7. The Qatari ID card must be valid.

8. The personal photograph must meet the specifications outlined in Circular No. 2014/4.

Determined by profession:

- Specialist General Physician/Dentist: 1200 Qatari Riyals

- General Physician/Dentist: 1000 Qatari Riyals

- Nurses/Pharmacists/Allied Health Professions: 600 Qatari Riyals
