Public Consultation on Memorandum of Understanding Between Tajikistan and Qatar

Aim:

The public is invited to share feedback on the memorandum of understanding between Tajikistan and the State of Qatar. The consultation period for the input will be open until July 30th, 2023.

Background:

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon witnessed today at the Palace of the Nation in Dushanbe the signing ceremony of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the governments of the two countries.

HH The Amir and HE the President of the Republic Tajikistan witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Doha Municipality and the State Executive Authority of Dushanbe City to establish twinningship relations between sister cities, an agreement on abolishing visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training and education between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding in the field of trade between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Commerce and Economic Development of the Republic of Tajikistan, and a cooperation agreement in the fields of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment between the Qatar General Organization for Standardization and Metrology and the Tajik Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Commercial Inspection.

HH The Amir and HE the Tajik President also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security between the Ministry of Municipality in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Agriculture in the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of protecting endangered wildlife and preserving its natural environment between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of construction and infrastructure between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business activities between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and an agreement for cooperation in the fields of physical education and sports between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of youth between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, an agreement on defense cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in the field of endowments and Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar and the Religious Committee and the Organization of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation between the Ministry of Labour in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population Employment in the Republic of Tajikistan, and cooperation program between the Ministry of Justice in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period from 2023 to 2025.

Guidelines for Submission of Feedback:

We request all interested parties to provide feedback on the memorandum of understanding using the template below. All submissions should be sent before July 30th, 2023.

We will review all feedback received and refine the decision where appropriate. We will also publish a summary of input and the outcome on the Sharek website following the end of the public consultation.
