Should standardization testing in education be increased or decreased?

Once an issue of consensus, standardized testing has become a controversial issue over the past years, especially in some Western countries.
For critics, standardized testing can easily become a means of discrimination and leads to schools focusing on test grades rather than the quality of education. Some point to the success of the Finnish model of education which famously has no mandatory standardized tests until the final year of high school.
Proponents, however, argue that standardized tests are actually a means of meritocracy and allow policy-makers and educators to easily measure success in specific metrics.
But we want to hear your opinion: should standardized testing in education be increased or decreased?
