Eid al-Adha falls every year on the tenth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah after the end of the Arafah pause, when the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God stand on Mount Arafat to perform the most important rituals of Hajj, after completing the rituals of the fifth obligation in Islam.
Evidence of Sighting the Crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah Determines the First Day of Eid al-Adha
In an official statement, the Saudi Supreme Court announced that the sighting of the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah was confirmed. They confirmed that Monday, June 19 is the first day of the blessed Hijri month, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The court announced that the rite of standing at Arafah will take place on Tuesday, June 27, and the 28th of the same month, the first day of Eid al-Adha.
This comes as the eyes of the world turn to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where the Hajj rituals begin for the 1444 AH season corresponding to the year 2023 AD.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expects to host more than two million pilgrims during the 2023 Hajj season, about a month after it announced the return of the numbers of pilgrims and their age groups to what the situation was before the Corona pandemic, in arrangement to return the ceremonies to their usual normal.
