The 111th session of the International Labour Conference, chaired by Qatar's Minister of Labour, HE Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, has significantly promoted equal apprenticeships and worker protection. This milestone reinforces the International Labour Organization's (ILO) commitment to improving working conditions and creating job opportunities worldwide.
Equal apprenticeships have allowed individuals of all ages to enhance their skills and promote social justice. The conference's approval of these apprenticeships underscores the importance of social dialogue and the involvement of employers' and workers' organizations in their implementation.
Additionally, the conference highlighted the critical role of worker protection in achieving gender equality, reducing inequalities, and fostering sustainable enterprises and economic development. The report discussed various dimensions of labor protection, including wages, working hours, occupational safety and health, and maternity protection.
These developments mark a significant step forward in the ILO's global mission to enhance workers' well-being, demonstrating Qatar's leadership and dedication to advancing labor rights and opportunities.
