"I Am the Traveler and the Road" Exhibition: A Unique Visual Experience to Shed Light on Human Experiences through Photography

The visual and sensory experience in the exhibition "I am the Traveler and the Road" combines the image's power and the word's impact. Held at the "Arab Museum of Modern Art" in Doha, it guarantees a rich experience for visitors to shed light on different human experiences in a uniquely artistic way.

The exhibition is "a visual journey that connects the distinctive visions of 11 male and female photographers in West Asia and North Africa," according to the organizers' statement.

The "I am the Traveler, and the Road" exhibition hosts the photographic works of Qatari documentary photographer Fatima Bint Ahmed, Yemeni photojournalist Hayat Al-Sharif, Egyptian visual artist Samar Sayed Bayoumi, Yemeni writer Shaimaa Al-Tamimi, Sudanese photographer Saleh Bashir, and Algerian photographer Abdo Shannan.

In addition to the Egyptian photographer Muhammad Al-Shami, the exhibition hosts the Omani photographer Reem Falaknaz, the Jerusalemite photographer Rula Halawani, the Egyptian photographer Mona Hassan, and the Algerian photographer Fathi Sahrawi.

Participants in the exhibition won the Sheikh Saud Al Thani Award for the years 2022 and 2021, which is an annual award and grant established by the "Qatar Image Festival: Photography," which is held every two years, to "support and develop the completion of photographic projects for photographers living in the West Asia and North Africa region, which It carries the energy that underlies the deepest and most enduring pictorial representations of human situations and states," according to the organizers' statement.

According to the official website of the art festival held in Doha, the exhibition "I am the Traveler and the Road" was primarily evaluated to present completed and under-development works and projects.

The exhibition installation simulates the photographic trends created by male and female photographers in Qatar, West Asia, and North Africa, highlighting the importance of individual and collective traveling through lived experiences.

One of the main themes of the Tasweer Festival is the presentation of two awards in memory of Sheikh Saud Al Thani (1966 - 2014), one of the most important collectors of valuables and art, who made a significant contribution to assembling the exceptional collection of the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in the Qatari capital. The exhibition "I am the Traveler and the Road" activities will continue at the Arab Museum of Modern Art until the fifth of next August.
