H.H the Amir performs the blessed Eid al-Adha prayer

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, performed the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayer with his fellow countrymen in the Lusail Prayer Space.
The prayer was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, and a number of Their Excellencies, sheikhs, ministers, and members of the Shura Council. The prayer was also attended by a number of Their Excellencies, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in the country.
The congregation was led by His Eminence Dr. Thaqil bin Sayer Al-Shammari, judge of the Court of Cassation and member of the Supreme Judicial Council, who emphasized in his Eid sermon that Eid Al-Adha is a manifestation of the unity of the nation, a day of sacrifice, giving, righteousness and loyalty. He emphasized that Eid is one of God’s rituals, and one of the greatest days in God's sight. The sermon included information about the ruling on sacrifice and how it brings worshippers closer to God on this day in which all Muslims share the same emotions. His Eminence urged the worshippers to purify and revive their souls and hearts, keep family ties, and strengthen bonds between members of society. He reminded the attendees of the obligation of societal unity, obedience to rulers, and supplicating for them.
