Under its Sahem programme, Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) is supporting expatriate students to find part-time work and visa extension opportunities.

It currently provides two services for expat students. The first service provides part-time jobs during their studies, while the second service enables expats who graduated from Qatari universities to extend their residence permits while searching for a suitable job.

Ibrahim Abdullah Al Mulla, Executive Director of Operations and Institutional Support at Jusour stated: “These two services are available. The targeted students can access the service on Jusour platform to find a job and the companies can also access the system to offer the jobs.”

Al Mulla further stated “There are four main programmes. Sahem is one of these programmes which aims at involving community members in the economic development of the country. We launched two services under the programme recently,” said Al Mulla.

Applicants for part-time employment will be eligible to work for only one employer following certain conditions. The candidates must be legal residents currently studying at a Qatar-based university or higher education institution, as exchange students from universities outside of Qatar are not eligible for the programme.

The Sahem Graduating Student Visa Extension programme aims to support graduates of Qatari universities by offering them the opportunity to extend their visas in Qatar by one year while on the job search.

Candidates can apply for the visa extension on the Jusour platform with visa extensions issued directly by the Ministry of Interior.

Candidates for the programme must have recently graduated from a Qatar-based university or higher education institution, be legal residents in Qatar holding university/higher education institution sponsorship, and be over 18 and no older than 28 years old.

The Board of Directors of Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) is chaired by HE Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labour. Its board of directors also includes such prominent entities as the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar University, Qatar Airways, Al Jazeera Media Network, and the Qatar Chamber.

The services can be accessed through the Jusour website (www.jusour.qa/programs).
