Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) Announces Environmental Sustainability Conference and Book Launch

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) held a press conference yesterday to unveil the upcoming "Environmental Sustainability Conference" for companies in Qatar. They announced the launch of a pioneering book titled "Corporate Environmental Sustainability - Reports and Achievements," which will take place on September 12.

The groundbreaking book aims to showcase Qatari companies' efforts and accomplishments in environmental sustainability. It sheds light on the government's initiatives in this area and highlights the achievements of Qatari companies, providing insights into their perspectives on sustainability.

The project is supported by prominent sponsors, including Hassad Foods, Abdullah Abdulghani & Brothers, Mwani Qatar, Msheireb Properties, and Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) as the main sponsors. The event's gold sponsors are Ashghal, Baladna, Environmental Services, and Green Energy Company.

Distinguished guests at the conference included Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Kuwari, Environmental Expert and Engineering Adviser at MoECC; Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Tamimi, CEO of QPMC; Dr. Ali Muhammad Al Marri, Director of Safety & Quality at Ashghal; Amar Hamid, CEO of Green Energy, Dr. Eiman Al Ansari, Abdullah Abdulghani and Brothers (AAB) Government Relations & Public Affairs Director, and other esteemed individuals.

During his speech, Dr. Al Kuwari emphasized the importance of documenting the achievements of private companies and their contributions to environmental sustainability. He highlighted that the conference will bring together scientists and researchers in the environmental field to exchange experiences, information, and data, ultimately generating applicable scientific and practical recommendations.

Dr. Al Marri, representing Ashghal, highlighted the authority's continuous efforts to integrate sustainability principles into its strategic plan. He emphasized implementing various initiatives at project sites to promote sustainability and environmental protection. Ashghal is committed to playing a pivotal role in achieving the strategic objectives of the State of Qatar, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
