Ministry of Labour Issues Monthly Bulletin for June 2023

According to the monthly statistical bulletin for June 2023 issued by the Ministry of Labour, the ministry received 18,027 new applications for recruitment in June, 10,935 of which were approved, and 7,092 were rejected. 

The bulletin which was released by the Ministry yesterday includes the most prominent statistics of Qatar’s labour sector as well as the results of inspection visits to various establishments subject to the provisions of the Labour Law.

In thıs regard, the bulletin showed that the ministry carried out 152 inspection visits to labour recruitment offices, 147 of which ended in acceptance, four in violation, and one visit ending with notice of the removal of a violation.

During the month of June, the Labour Inspection Department carried out an intensive inspection campaign to monitor the extent to which establishments are complying with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with Qatar’s labour market. Therefore, the total number of inspection visits in various regions of the country reached 4,472, a marked increase over the 3,857 visits from last month. The visits from last month resulted in warnings being sent to 522 companies to remove the violation, while the number of violations recorded against companies reached 50, a reduction from last month’s 64.

Regarding labour complaints, the bulletin showed that the Department of Labour Relations received 2,210 complaints from workers against their employers, also a reduction from last month which saw 2,566 complaints. 

Of the complaints from June, 546 were settled, 46 were referred to the Labour Dispute Settlement Committees, and 1659 complaints remained under process. The Labour Relations Department also received 111 complaints from the public, all of which were settled.
