Qatar denounced the Israeli occupation authorities' persistent refusal to cooperate with the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which is hindering the commission's ability to fulfill its mandate.

Qatar's Permanent Representative delivered the statement to the UN Office in Geneva, HE Dr. Hind Abdulrahman Al Muftah, during the dialogue with the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel, as part of the 53rd Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Qatar's representative reiterated the country's strong condemnation of the systematic violations committed by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinian activists, human rights defenders, and journalists. These violations include immoral and illegal practices, such as prolonged administrative detention, intimidation during interrogations, torture, and unjustly labeling Palestinian civil society organizations and their members as "terrorists."

Moreover, there are reports of increasing pressure on donors to cut off funding and support, arbitrary detentions of civil society members, forced transfers from the occupied Palestinian territory, and the revocation of residence permits in East Jerusalem. These actions violate international human rights and humanitarian law and are considered crimes under international law.

The representative emphasized that these acts are part of a systematic plan to silence Palestinian voices that document Israeli occupation crimes. These crimes are inseparable from the aggressive settlement and racial policies pursued by the occupying power.

Qatar stands firmly against such violations and calls for the respect of international law and the protection of the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
