QatarCreates has uncovered the pioneering display 'Building a Creative Nation' outside of Qatar for the first time. Designed by 2 x 4, the exhibition showcased at ACP Palazzo Franchetti during the 18th International Architecture Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia, explores Qatar's cultural institutions and their evolution over the past 18 years. The display will be able to attend until 26 November 2023.

The event is hosted by HE Khalid bin Yousuf Al Sada, Ambassador to the State of Qatar to the Italian Republic, who invited international guests, architects, museum directors, and Qatar Museums representatives to a private preview of the event. This exhibition demonstrates Qatar’s commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030 and produces a profound international cultural exchange. Serving as a platform for education and research, it sought to bring together international cultural leaders.

The exhibition primarily focuses on five new cultural venues being developed by Qatar Museums in Qatar with ELEMENTAL, Herzog & de Meuron, Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), Philippe Starck, and UNStudio.

Sheikha Reem Al Thani spoke about the exhibition, “We are incredibly proud to share our vision for the next generation of cultural institutions with the world. This unique exhibition showcases our commitment to cultural evolution, combining innovation with respect for our past.”

QatarCreates displays the country’s vision for cultural growth and focuses on furthering the cultural dialogue of the region. While preserving Qatar’s national heritage, reaching this new international stage can further increase cultural exchange with other nations and promote further coexistence between different cultures.
