Qatar's Minister of Public Health Chairs WHO's Executive Board, Prioritizes Global Health Goals

The Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) has chosen the State of Qatar to lead as President for the following year. This decision, made during the 153rd session of the Board, highlights the global recognition of Qatar's prominent role and unwavering support for the WHO's mission of advancing health and well-being worldwide.

Qatar's engagement in the World Health Assembly began on May 21 in Geneva and concluded on May 30. Minister of Public Health HE Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari led the Qatari delegation and secured a position on the WHO's Executive Board to represent the Eastern Mediterranean Region for a three-year term.

Expressing gratitude to the Member States for their trust, HE Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari conveyed Qatar's commitment to collaborating closely with the WHO's Member States and governing bodies. Together, they aim to effectively implement the WHO's objectives and work towards achieving universal health coverage.
