Registration for volunteering at Expo 2023 Doha, the second largest event to ever be hosted by the State of Qatar, is expected to open within two weeks from today, according to a statement from a high-ranking official.
Engineer Muhammad Ali Al-Khoury, Secretary General of Expo 2023 Doha Horticulture, stated that the organizers are in the process of attracting between three to four thousand volunteers for the exhibition, which is scheduled to start in October and continue until March 2024.
Al-Khoury confirmed that the registration process will begin within the next two weeks, which is to be followed by a process of carefully examining the applications. The official announcement regarding the application procedures will then be announced through the exhibition's official website and social media platforms.
As the first horticultural exhibition to be held in a desert climate, Expo 2023 Doha will encourage an innovative approach to horticulture, with a particular focus on climate, water and environmental sustainability issues, especially as a third of the world's land area faces the threat of desertification.
The exhibition extends over a huge area of 1.7 million square meters in Al Bidda Park, and represents a milestone in the ongoing development of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which highlights sustainability through four pillars: economic, social, human and environmental.
Expo 2023 Doha is expected to attract a staggering three million visitors from around the world.
