The Minister of Municipality inaugurates the “Mosques in Qatar” exhibition

The temporary exhibition “Mosques in Qatar: Between Yesterday and Today” is now open to the public in Sheikh Saud Hall at the Museum of Islamic Art, under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums, and with the support of the Seashore Group.
The exhibition, which is taking place in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar, will continue until 22 August 2023.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, Minister of Municipality in the State of Qatar, officially inaugurated the temporary exhibition in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Masoud bin Muhammad Al-Amiri, Minister of Justice, and His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Mr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary for Da`wah and Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf, and Mr. Salem Saeed Al Mohannadi, CEO of the Seashore Group, along with a number of dignitaries and members of the Qatar Museums Board of Trustees.
The exhibition includes photographs and illustrations of mosques restored by Qatar Museums, which celebrate and highlight the country's ancient architectural identity.
The exhibition celebrates the importance of mosques and their heritage in Qatar over the last century, as it takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of Qatar’s mosques, starting with the oldest mosques and ending with the most recent architectural monuments.
